Laurens grew up in a musical family, where he and his brothers were encouraged to pick up an instrument from an early age. After starting out on the piano, he found his true calling behind the drums.

He earned his Bachelor of Music at HKU University of the Arts Utrecht, specialising in Music Production & Performance. During his second year, he interned at MassiveMusic in Shanghai, producing music for commercials. Shortly after graduating, he spent a semester as Head of the Music Production Department at True School of Music in Mumbai.

Since then, Laurens has been composing music for a wide range of projects, while maintaining a strong love for live performance and the joy of playing. As a drummer and percussionist, he regularly takes to the stage. He also hosts numerous jam sessions in Utrecht, leads music workshops, and continually develops his own musical projects, collaborating with a diverse range of artists and musicians.

Drawing inspiration from the worlds of pop, jazz, hip-hop, house and funk, Laurens thrives on blending genres and exploring new musical territory. Versatility comes naturally to him, making him a true musical all-rounder who feels at home in a wide range of musical settings.
